Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Travelino app ("Travelino", "we", "us") collects, how we use it and what choices you have. If you have a question, write to [email protected].

What we collect

Your account. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one. We also store your username, your profile photo if you add one, the countries you mark as visited, and the people you follow and who follow you.

What you create in the app. Your trips, cities and places, visit status, packing lists, memories (text and photos), likes, bookmarks, the trips you publish and any reports you send about other people's content.

Photos. Photos you add to memories are uploaded to our servers so you can see them on any device. The app reads the date and location saved in the photos you pick, so a memory lands on the right place and day.

Location. If you allow it, the app uses your location while you use it to show where you are on the map and how far places are. Your live location stays on your device. When you add a place or a city, its coordinates may be sent to our server to find which city it belongs to. We never track your location in the background.

Travelino AI. When you ask Travelino AI a question, we send your question, the chat history and the city you're asking about to OpenAI to generate an answer. Nothing else from your account is sent. When you read a published trip in another language, the trip's text may be sent to OpenAI to translate it.

Usage data. We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used: for example, which steps of the onboarding people finish, whether a trip was created and how the Premium screen performs. After you sign in, these events are linked to your account ID. Mixpanel stores this data in the European Union.

Purchases. Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to know whether your Premium subscription is active.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can tell you about things like trip invitations.

Support. If you write to us, we keep your email and the conversation to help you.

How we use it

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.

What other people can see

Your trips and memories are private until you publish a trip. A published trip, with its places, text and photos, appears in the feed, where anyone can read it, including people without an account. Your name, username and profile photo are shown on your published trips and to people who find or follow you.

Photos are stored at web addresses that are hard to guess. Anyone who has the exact address of a photo can open it.

Who helps us run Travelino

We use these providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us.

Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. When data leaves the UK or the EU, it's protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: open Settings and tap Delete account. This deletes your profile, your trips and memories, your packing lists, likes, bookmarks and who you follow.

Trips you published before deleting your account may stay in the feed without your name. If you want them and your photos removed as well, write to [email protected] and we'll delete them within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you the data we have about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy of it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. Write to [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the UK or the EU, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Travelino isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us personal data, write to us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections, and access to it is limited to the people who run Travelino. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app.
